Laughlin’s location along the banks of the pristine Colorado River attracts groups to relax, explore and just have a good time. Resting at the crossroads of Nevada, California and Arizona, Laughlin makes the perfect base camp to explore the desert Southwest. The city is just 90 miles south of Las Vegas.
“Laughlin is a great destination for hub-and-spoke itineraries,” said Meg McDaniel, senior manager of regional sales at Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. “There is so much to see within a short distance and travelers like the convenience of unpacking only once.”
But, Laughlin itself offers groups entertainment, outdoor adventures, dining and indoor activities.
Groups can choose from nine distinct casino-resort hotels that line the banks of the Colorado River. They’ll experience accommodations that are comfortable and affordable with beautiful views of the river or surrounding desert mountain landscape.
“While the Laughlin resorts continue to enhance their properties, adding new restaurants and entertainment venues attracting top name entertainers, the destination still manages to keep its friendly, small-town atmosphere,” McDaniel said.
Some of the biggest names in music have taken the stage in Laughlin, including Reba McEntire, Toby Keith and Rascal Flatts. From huge events like Laughlin Laughfest to concerts such as Josh Turner and Tim McGraw, groups will find plenty of top entertainment in Laughlin.
Groups can also enjoy exciting outdoor adventure on the river with wave runner, canoe or kayak rentals or explore the rugged desert terrain in ATV or UTV off-road vehicles. The North Reach Park and Trails has 5 miles of hiking, jogging, bicycling and equestrian trails, day-use area with a grassy amphitheater.
After working up an appetite in the outdoors, Laughlin’s unique and fun restaurants satisfy any taste bud and budget. The Colorado Belle’s Loading Dock Bar & Grille serves Southwestern barbeque with indoor and outdoor patio seating. Bumbleberry Flats in the Pioneer Hotel and Casino serves American comfort food with a Southern twist and features tableside beer taps. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. at Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino serves seafood favorites with outdoor deck seating overlooking the Colorado River. More elegant dining can be found at Riverside Resort’s Gourmet Room, The Range steak house at Harrah’s Laughlin, or The Steakhouse at Tropicana Laughlin Hotel Casino. Casual cafes and all-you-can-eat buffets are also good options.
